Create And Edit Symphony Groups
Create and edit users all in one place, the Groups work area. Accessible from the Groups option in the main menu, managed your groups and membership quickly and easily.
Create New Groups
Create new user groups to accommodate your organization's needs. Use these groups to assign them specific privileges, or grant them access to specific resources.
Log in as a system admin or tenant admin. If you are logged in as a tenant admin, verify you're in or switch to the appropriate tenant.
From the main menu, select Groups. The Groups work area opens.

Select Create. A Create group pop up dialog opens.
Enter the group Name and Description. These are required fields.

If you are a system administrator, select the tenant you want this group to be created in, or Global group to make it available to all global users.
If you're a tenant administrator, this field is not shown. The group is created in the tenant you are working in.
Select Create group when you've entered all required data. A success message appears, and you are returned to the Groups work area.
Edit Existing Groups
You can quickly and easily edit a groups as an admin by selecting Groups from the main menu on the Symphonyhome page. More advanced changes can be made in the Managed Dashboards module, or the Data Discovery module.
Edit basic group information as a tenant admin
Log in as a tenant admin.
Verify you're in the appropriate tenant (if you are the administrator for multiple tenants) by selecting My Tenants from the main menu.
Select Groups from the main menu. The Groups work area opens.
Scroll to find an existing group, or use the Search field to find a group.
Select Edit group from the Actions menu for the group you want to update. An Edit group pop up dialog opens.
Update the group Name and Description as needed.
Select Update group to save your changes.
If you need to make other changes to this group, select the action menu in the Edit group pop up, then select a module to edit the group information in that module. Make appropriate changes in Managed Dashboards or in Visual Data Discovery.
Edit basic group information as a system administrator
Log in as a system administrator.
Select Groups from the main menu. The Groups work area opens.
Scroll to find an existing group, or use the Search field to find a group.
Select Edit group from the Actions menu for the group you want to update. An Edit group pop up dialog opens.
Update the group Name and Description as needed. The tenant cannot be changed here.
Select Update group to save your changes.
If you need to make other changes to this user, select the action menu, then select a module to edit the user information in that module. Make appropriate changes in Managed Dashboards or in Visual Data Discovery.
Perform advanced group tasks in Managed Dashboards
Most advanced group tasks are performed in the Managed Dashboards module.
Log in as a system admin or tenant admin. If you are logged in as a tenant admin, verify you're in or switch to the appropriate tenant.
Select Groups from the main menu. The Groups work area opens. Scroll to find an existing groups, or use the Search field to find a group.
Select Edit group from the Actions menu for the group you want to update. An Edit group pop up dialog opens
Select the actions menu button, then Edit in Managed Dashboards.
A list of groups opens. Search for the group, or scroll to find the group you want to edit.

Select a group, then Edit from the Contextual menu, then make and Save your group changes.

Perform advanced group tasks in Visual Data Discovery
Some advanced group tasks are accomplished in the Visual Data Discovery module.
Log in as a system admin or tenant admin. If you are logged in as a tenant admin, verify you're in or switch to the appropriate tenant.
Select Groups from the main menu. The Groups work area opens. Scroll to find an existing group, or use the Search field to find a group.
Select Edit group from the Actions menu for the group you want to update. An Edit group pop up dialog opens.
Select the actions menu button, then Edit in Visual Data Discovery.
A work area for users and groups opens. Select the Groups tab, then search for the group, or scroll to find the group you want to edit.

Select a group, then make and Save your group changes.
