Configure Elasticity

There are a few configuration settings related to license elasticity. Use the Setup work area to configure warnings for elasticity use.

Enable elasticity related warnings

1. Connect to Symphony as an administrative user.

2. In the Administration interface, select and expand the Setup work area, then selecting Config. The configuration work area opens.

3. Select Licensing in the Category drop-down, then select Advanced Settings in the toolbar. Licensing information and elasticity options open.

   

4. Enable one or more elasticity options, as needed.

   • The Elasticity Activation Warning Enabled setting determines whether an email will be sent to the system administrator or maintainer the first time a user starts using an elastic seat in any given elasticity period. The email will be sent a maximum of one time per calendar quarter. Email settings must be configured to send this notification.

   • The Elastic Hour Warning Threshold settings are used to send an email to the system administrator or maintainer when a specific number of elastic hours are remaining. By default, this is set to zero hours, and the email will be sent when the hours have been exhausted. No warning email is sent if the threshold is set to -1.
