Create a New Tenant
When you create a new tenant in Symphony, you're creating an isolated work area for specific clients, departments, or lines of business. You'll create a tenant, assign an administrative user, create a project for the tenant, and define a data connector.
Important: You must have the appropriate licensing from insightsoftware to see this option.
Log in as the supplied admin user or a system administrator.
Select Tenants from the main menu. The Tenant work area opens.
Select Create to create a new tenant. The Create tenant work area opens.
-
Add a Tenant name.
Note: By default, the tenant is enabled by default. If you're not ready to enable this tenant, disable by sliding the Enabled toggle to the left.
-
Select Create tenant to complete the initial tenant creation.
A message is returned indicating the tenant is successfully created, and is added to the list of tenants in the Tenants work area.
Next, create or add a tenant admin for your new tenant.
After you've created your tenant, add or create at least one admin user for the new tenant.
Log in as the supplied admin user or other system administrator.
Select Users from the main menu on the Symphonyhome page. The Users work area opens.
-
Select Create. A Create user pop up window opens.
Supply values for the User name, Full name, Email, and Password. Select your new Tenant from the drop-down list.
Enable Administrator to make this user an admin of this tenant.
Select Create user. A success message is displayed, and the tenant admin is added to the tenant.
Make an existing user a tenant admin
Log in as a system admin or tenant admin. If you are logged in as a tenant admin, verify you're in or switch to the appropriate tenant.
Select Users from the main menu. The Users work area opens.
Scroll to find an existing user, or use the Search field to find a user.
Select Edit user from the Actions menu for the user you want to update. An Edit user pop up dialog opens.
-
Enable the toggle Administrator to make this user an admin for the tenants listed in Tenants.
-
If you are a system admin, you can add or remove tenants here. The user becomes a tenant admin for all listed tenants.
-
If you are a tenant admin, the user becomes a tenant admin for the tenant you are working in.
-
Select Update user to save your changes.
If you need to make other changes to this user, select the action menu, then select a module to edit the user information in that module. Make appropriate changes in Managed Dashboards or in Visual Data Discovery.
