Edit a Data Cube

Edit an existing data cube quickly and easily to change the structure of your data cube, edit the properties, and make other changes as needed.
Edit a data cube

Find and open a data cube. You can do this in one of several ways:
Open Managed Dashboards or Managed Reports, then Open > Data Cube to browse or search the data cube content to which you have access. Navigate within your current open project, or use the Projects option in the main menu to open and search other shared projects.
Select Data Cubes in the Explore window to browse or search the data cube content to which you have access. Navigate within your current open project, or use the Projects option in the main menu to open and search other shared projects.

Right-click the data cube you want to edit. An options menu opens. Select an edit option to edit the data cube, or another option to perform other actions.
Note: If the data cube is currently checked in, you'll need to check it out to make changes.
When you've added, connected, and configured all elements, select Check In from the toolbar to make your data cube available to for use in your project and sharing with other users.
The menu options available from the right click menu vary based on the status of the data cube, and may include:

Check In |
Check in a checked out data cube. See Check In, Check Out and Auto Saving. |
Check Out |

Undo Check Out |
Undo the check out of a data cube, returning it to a checked in state and removing all changes made since the last check in. See Check In, Check Out and Auto Saving. |
Publish |
Publish the data cube to another project. Select a destination and options for publishing this cube. See Working With Projects. |
Cut |
Cut the selected data cube from its current location in the Explorer window. Paste the cube to a different location in the Explorer window. |
Copy |
Copy the selected data cube in the Explorer window. Paste a copy of the cube to a different location in the Explorer window. |
Paste |
Paste a cut or copied data cube into a new location in the Explorer window. |
Refresh |
Refreshes the data cube's data, including name, description, database tables, and more, to ensure you have the most up-to-date information if it has changed since you last accessed it. |
Rename |
Rename the data cube. |
Delete |
Delete the data cube. |
Properties |
View and edit the properties for this data cube. Edit the associated Name, Description, and Tags. View the Revision history, References, as well as review and revise Security options for the cube. See File and Folder Properties . |
Note: You need to be a user with a Developer seat to create or edit a data cube.
