Notification Types

Symphony offers a number of managed dashboard, managed report, and other notification types. Select an option that suits your needs.

Scheduled Notifications

A scheduled notification occurs on a periodic schedule which you define by selecting recurrence and other scheduling options.

Select Notification in the toolbar of any dashboard, report, scorecard, or small multiple. The notification work area opens.
Select the Scheduled notification option. A Notification work area opens.
Enter a Name, an optional Description, then select Define schedule to configure scheduling options.

To run the scheduled event now, select Run Immediately.
Select Add export content and select a format for exported content to send.
Optionally change the delivery option from the default, Email, which sends the alert and content in an email and as an attachment.

A note-based notification lets you know when a user has added a note (annotation) to data in a visualization.

Select Notification in the toolbar of any dashboard, report, scorecard, or small multiple. The notification work area opens.
Select the Note notification option. A Notification work area opens.
Enter a Name, an optional Description, then select Define schedule to configure scheduling options.

To run the scheduled event now, select Run Immediately.
Select Add export content and select a format for exported content to send.
Optionally change the delivery option from the default, Email, which sends the alert and content in an email and as an attachment.

A data driven notification occurs when a change in data is detected on a scheduled basis, for example, polling.

Choose from a variety of options to determining what conditions occur in the data to trigger your notification.

Select Notification in the toolbar of any dashboard, report, scorecard, or small multiple. The notification work area opens.
Select the Data Driven notification option. A Notification work area opens.
Enter a Name, and an optional Description.
Select Add condition to select the data changes to monitor, for example, a value increasing over the past three days.
Select Define schedule to configure scheduling options.

To run the scheduled event now, select Run Immediately.
Select Add export content and select a format for exported content to send.
Optionally change the delivery option from the default, Email, which sends the alert and content in an email and as an attachment.

A data correction-based notification lets you know when a user has added a measure correction (data annotation) to a metric set.

Select Notification in the toolbar of any dashboard, report, scorecard, or small multiple. The notification work area opens.
Select the Data Driven notification option. A Notification work area opens.
Enter a Name, and an optional Description.
Select from the available options in the Metric Setdrop-downto select the visualization and metric set you want to monitor for data corrections.
Select Add export content and select a format for exported content to send.
Optionally change the delivery option from the default, Email, which sends the alert and content in an email and as an attachment.
